yes and no intoxicated angel. some people feel that it is politicians who are to blamed. some people feel it is soldiers. some people think its human nature to be violent.

i think producing weapons of mass destruction at all is fundamentally wrong. these are weapons which kill indiscriminately. they are being designed (or were) metres below where the protesters sit on their roof.

when awful wars break out there is very little we can do as individuals let alone as countries. i think putting an end to the arms trade (the uk makes more profit per head from arms than any other country in the world) is a fantastic start.

all my support to those on the roof

Have you ever stopped think about the fact that these companies are making the component, not using them. Shouldn't you be looking to targeting the people using them!!?? I find it highly annoying that you are planing these protests and not thinking about the people who work there and the fact they have families and children and shouldn't feel unsafe going to there place of work!

how can bristolians stand for this?? the bombs and aircraft falling on innocent palestinian families are being supplied by companies based in our city. raytheon arent the only ones earning while the bethlehem is burning this christmas. BOEING have had a long business history with the israeli military. thier recent shopping list includes delivery of:

IAI-developed Arrow missiles
Boeing AGM-114D Longbow Hellfire missiles
18 AH-64D Apache Longbow fighter helicopters
63 Boeing F15 Eagle fighter planes
102 Boeing F16 Eagle fighter planes
42 BOEING AH-64 Apache fighter helicopters
F-16 *Peace* [?!] Marble II & III Aircraft
4 Boeing 777s
Arrow II interceptors

but guess what? its not all bad news. if youve got shares in boeing that is. they have conveniently gone up by 1.6% in the last 24 hours! (yes! while everyone else is going bust!)

perhaps youre not prepared to climb on a roof this new years eve to show your anger. but if you have access to a landline phone please take the time to give boeing a piece of your mind. below are the numbers of raytheon boeing and other bristol bomb makers involved in this atrocity:

BOEING
01275 473 633 (Bristol offices)
020 7340 1900 (Madonna Walsh - head of the defense branch)
Fax: 0870 1244 747

RAYTHEON
0117 906 3405
Fax: 0117 906 3627

BAE SYSTEMS

Might I suggest protests at their Harlow plant in Essex. That is where the manufacturing of the guidance and radar electronic components takes place. Also the car park is extremely easy to block up because the facility is very old and not thought out well.

I used to work for Raytheon, but resigned in disgust over their products and the general corruption and corporate mentality enforced by the American "invasion" and control push in the late 90s.

Their products are marketed to the employees as peace-time "protection" which is immoral.

Israel has pledged to continue these attacks and is threatening a ground offensive, so it is important to maintain the protests.

For those unable to attend the vigils please protest to your MP and MEPs. This is most easily done using www.writetothem.com/
If they are flooded with complaints they just might be a bit less supine.

You may also be interested to take part in an online BBC feedback at
http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=585...91646
It is refreshing to read that most of the responses are very good.

You can keep in touch with the vigil and other Palestine related events in the area at
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bristol-PSC/

2) RAYTHEON

You may have already heard about the rooftop protests at the Raytheon offices in Bristol – see www.bristol.indymedia.org/article/689418

A quick google reveals Raytheon are involved with radar developments for the F-16 bombers as used on the air strikes on Gaza.

So please also support this protest as well.

Vigils are usually held on Thursday and Saturday afternoons. But visitors are welcome at anytime. The protesters are always at home! The Raytheon office is at Argentum House, Bristol business Park Frenchay.
http://www.multimap.com/listings/?query=argentum+house+...54264|15|4

Turn off the roundabout on Coldharbour Lane in front of UWE Frenchay Campus. Turn left into the Business Park and the protest is about fifty yards along this road on the right. Just look for the office building with the tents on the roof and slogans painted on the tiles!

There’s a wish-list at http://bristol.indymedia.org/article/689450

On Sunday (28th) transport will be provided from the Gaza vigil on the Centre out to the Raytheon office opposite UWE – a good chance to link these campaigns.

Check Bristol-Indymedia regularly for fresh news on this protest, or better still make it your “home-page” to always be in touch with the local activist and campaign scene.
